Stock Portfolio

January 16, 2020

At 20 years old, my parents helped me open a Roth IRA and generously contributed $3,500 for me to begin investing. They have taught me the importance of saving and investing for my future and retirement, which I am doing through the stock market.  From then on, I have tried to contribute as much as I can into my brokerage accounts. Follow me on my journey and see the power of compounding interest!

I have been using two tools to track my stock portfolio:
  1. The free app - Personal Capital. This app automatically tracks your income, spending, and investments. If you are interested, please sign up via my referral link and we'll both receive a $20 Amazon gift card!
  2. My Stock Portfolio Tracker Microsoft Excel Template, which is available for purchase on Etsy for $3. Many brokerage accounts (Merrill Lynch, E*Trade, and Robinhood from my personal experience) do not factor in dividends received as part of your gains or losses. This template provides an accurate calculation on your return on investment for each of your positions.
